OCTOBER 2 - A DULL DAY - LAUNDRY AND TUNA CASSEROLE

Ron went to Lidl by the train station and got bread for our breakfast, while I washed my hair and tidied the apartment.

After breakfast, we walked to the laundromat. The lady attendant was even crabbier than the original lady we dealt with for many years. When we left I asked Ron if he thought they were related, and he knew exactly what I meant. I asked her, in my best German, if she would take the washing out and dry it for us. She charged Ron accordingly, cash only, of course. Told us it would be ready at 3:30 PM. We also left some dry-cleaning, which is VERY expensive here, and that wouldn't be ready until Friday afternoon. She first told us Monday, but we'd be gone by then. There are a lot of conveniences in the US we take for granted.

We continued on from there. Stopped at Fischer's Mohren Platz, in the very middle of the pedestrian area. They have a large terrace in front, a great spot for watching people and enjoying the scenery. We just had a beverage.

As it got to be 3:30, Ron went back to check on the laundry. When he arrived at 3:50 PM, the crabby attendant had not even put it in to dry. She then put it into the dryer, and Ron waited while it dried 30-minutes

Meanwhile, I walked on very slowly, taking my time looking around. Eventually got to the casino, registered and went in. None of my previous cards seemed to work, so I went back to the front desk to request a new card. That one finally worked, but the Gator machine I like was COLD this day. It paid only one small bonus (EU 8.60), no free games, and was no fun!

Ron came in and sat at the machine next to me. He played a "Farm Girl" game and ended up with a screen full of farm girls, and immediately won EU 20, which made up for my losses.

We walked down Chamonix-strasse and stopped into the small Garmischerhof Hotel for memories and a beverage. I used to go there to the tiny, cozy bar occasionally, and then walk or catch the bus to the Bahnhof to meet Ron. The interior looks nothing like the lovely place of old, and now they have a "bier garten" in back, where we sat for a drink.

When we got back to the apartment, we attempted to make a skillet tuna casserole, but this is how it turned out, which wasn't good!

Tried to take care of some on-line banking, which turned into a disaster, which we didn't discover until the next day.  But, since we didn't know about the banking problem, we were off to a peaceful night's sleep in the crisp mountain air.
